PerforMANcedinners & Edible Sculptures
Cultural Center Count Duke. November 11th, 2004. Opening of the exhibit “El Imperdurable mente presente” *.
Edible human chocolART sculpture devoured by the audience at the exhibit’s opening.
Cooked and sculpted at the School of Restoration in Madrid.
Two sculptures —a man and a woman—, were made at 1/1 scale. During the opening, the audience ate the man. The woman remained in exhibit from November 11th, 2004 to January 3rd, 2005. On December 23rd she was cut in pieces and the slices were given among the audience that spent the Christmas Eve’s dinner with the remains of a chocolate cadaver.

* The artist refers to his work entitled Non-lasting Present. In this case, he cites the title of the work and adds the word mente, turning the adjective imperdurable or non-lasting into an adverb allowing to refer to the perishable ability of the mind in the present.
