X’Teresa, Arte Alternativo
3rd International Performance Festival, October 1994.
Sequence #1; The Fear Environment [2]
A character with a presidential sash and Pinocchio’s nose dragging a bill and a rubber-latex human deflated sculpture.
Sequence #2: The Beginning of the End
The human sculpture and the bill are hung as if they were clothes on a clothesline.
Sequence #3: The State of the Union
A speech is given in resemblance to those given by the Mexican presidents. The applause is controlled manually with a remote control.
Sequence #4: The InflACTION
A hose delivering air is connected through the sculpture’s anus and is inflated. Right after this, an announcement that the National Anthem will be played in off is given. A funeral march is heard instead.

[1] Combination of the word inflation and action.
[2] El Miedo Ambiente or the Fear Environment. This phrase plays with the phonetics of Medio Ambiente (environment), and replaces medio by miedo (fear).
