Distended Sculpture
The echo of silence
International City Art Festival, Medellín, Colombia, 1997.
5 human wax and copal sculptures melted in front of an audience.
The transfiguration of the sculptures made the audience to see an installation different to the one of the previous day.
The copal offered a smell that expanded all throughout the exhibition space allowing the piece a broader scope.
They were all lit one by one, each with an approximate duration of 180 continuous hours.
They were lit at the beginning and the end of the exhibit.
